Blade Runner

March 18, 2019

In 1982, Ridley Scott released one of the greatest science fiction films ever made. Based on a Phillip K. Dick novel, the dark, gritty world of Blade Runner was captivating. While it didn't do well in the mainstream release, it managed to develop a cult following. Firmly cementing itself as an iconic work of filmography, and in 2017, it got a phenomenal sequel, Blade Runner 2049, which was every bit as revolutionary as the original. The world of Blade Runner felt real, in part due to its groundbreaking special effects. It's also an incredibly deep philosophical movie that is not afraid to ask the big question: "What does it mean to be human?". After all, in a world where bounty hunters "retire" android copies of humans, called "Replicants", it's an inquiry that must be answered.
